USHAKOVA
Alina Ushakova (nickname: Alinushka) is a supervising sound editor and re-recording mixer based in London.
She graduated National Film and TV school in 2024 winning the Avid Award for Excellence in Sound Design for her technically and creatively outstanding work.
Alina is convinced that sound has the most intricate and magical powers in film, so she considers herself a wizard!
Awards & Nominations
In 2023, documentary Clean, which Alina worked on as a sound designer, received a BAFTA Scotland nomination. In 2025 she was nominated for MPSE Golden reel awards in Verna Fields Student category.
Among her recent achievements, Alina supervised and mixed the American feature film Mad Bills to Pay (or Destiny, dile que no soy malo), which premiered at the 75th Berlinale Festival and won a Special Jury Prize at Sundance Film Festival. The film is set for a 2025 theatrical release in the USA and UK.
Alina's specialty is building detailed, enhanced sonic worlds with great attention to characters, the story and the unique identity of the films.
